Burgerlords Goes Diner-Style Chic in Highland Park This Weekend

And yes, there are lots of vegan options

Highland Park has a new burger contender, as Burgerlords opens this Saturday in the former Good Girl Dinette space. The building, just off Figueroa, has been flipped to more of a diner feel, complete with throwback booths and some vintage signage.

This new Burgerlords has been in the works since last summer, though owners Fred and Max Guerrero have been in Highland Park on and off for some time. In early 2017 they jumped into the takeout window at the Hi Hat over on York, eventually shuttering that location in May of last year to focus on their new standalone and the original Chinatown corner space, which is still going strong.

And so now there is the Highland Park sit-down Burgerlords move, with its prime location next to the Lodge Room and its big, glassy frontage. The menu is, as always, a nostalgic affair, winding from fries made in rice bran oil to single and double burgers. The Burgerlords branded vegan patties are also rather popular, as are the tahini milkshakes. New to this location is smoked and brined pastrami-style tofu sandwich, plus options like a vegan caesar salad. The opening menu is below.

Burgerlords officially opens to the public on Saturday, keeping hours from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. They will eventually offer delivery via Postmates as well.

Burgerlords. 110 N. Ave. 56, Los Angeles, CA.
