Coffee, noodles, Spanish food, and more hit the block today at SocialEats

Santa Monica’s SocialEats food hall opens today, offering a slew of choice for diners along the walkable Third Street Promenade. From morning coffee to craft beer to fried chicken sandwiches from chef David Chang (coming soon, at least), SocialEats is aiming to be a new anchor for one of greater LA’s busiest tourist blocks.

Most of the small stalls ring around a central bar area, with a coffee shop at one end and seating down the middle. There’s room for ten taps of craft beer at the bar, while Adelaide Coffeebar offers espresso drinks and pastries from the Australia-based Vittoria folks. The coffee bar will also keep slightly earlier hours.

Beyond coffee and beer, there’s Spanish tapas spot Cada Vez; All-around California cuisine with a healthy bent from celebrity chef Graham Elliot called Petit Harvest; Japanese food at Supertoro; and pan-Asian noodle options from the inelegantly named Street Noods. Chang’s Fuku is part of the greater Gallery Food Hall complex, which operates more like a split-level food court with other standalone restaurant spaces like Paperboy Pizza, Michael Voltaggio’s STRFSH, Azulé Tacos, and, chef Dave Beran’s hidden tasting menu dining room Dialogue.

The K2 Restaurants group is behind the new SocialEats, alongside Linwood Ventures and LPC West. All told, there’s some 324 seats available for diners both upstairs and down, and out on the patio that leans into the promenade. The restaurant will also offer delivery to the nearby community. The opening menus are below.

All but Fuku opens today at SocialEats, keeping hours from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Adelaide Coffeebar opens early at 8 a.m. daily. SocialEats will also expand its food hall footprint to Las Vegas as well.
