The dining options are looking good at LBX
Long Beach’s dining and retail complex just added Silverlake Ramen to its food roster this week. The ramen shop is fast-tracking its expansion throughout Southern California, and this jump into Long Beach Exchange, or LBX, also has some newcomers with Plancha Latin Kitchen, and Jay Bird’s Nashville Hot Chicken. All three plan to open in 2019.
It’s not uncommon to see long lines at the original Silverlake Ramen on Sunset Boulevard, so the company keeps seeking out new spaces to serve steaming bowls of ramen. Silverlake Ramen recently opened a new location on Third Street Promenade on September 30, an Echo Park to-go space in 2017, Highland Park’s York Boulevard in 2016, and at LBX sometime in 2019.
Plancha Latin Kitchen will be open by spring, and is a new fast-casual restaurant preparing foods from the Central and South American continent, with beer, wine, and aguas frescas. And Long Beach’s first Nashville fried chicken joint, Jay Bird’s Nashville Hot Chicken, makes its entry to LBX in early 2019.
LBX is approximately 266,000 square feet of stores, shops, and restaurants on over 26 acres, which includes two acres of communal open space for the public near the Long Beach Airport. LBX is shaping up to be a diverse draw group of restaurants with family-owned soul food spot Georgia’s, In-N-Out, Orange County-based Portola Coffee Roasters, the upscale The 908, and Southern California chain The Kroft and Grilled Cheese Bar.
