Sunset Strip’s Newest Rooftop Spot Promises a ‘Return to Decadence’

Early renderings of the upcoming 1 Hotel

Harriet’s opens at the upcoming 1 Hotel next week

Big things are coming to the Sunset Strip, as The h.wood Group looks to complete its transformation of a couple of restaurant spaces in the sparkling 1 Hotel West Hollywood.

Earlier this year it was announced that the h.wood Group (The Nice Guy, Delilah, Peppermint Club, Petite Taqueria, etc.) had taken food and beverage control of two different restaurant spaces overlooking West Hollywood. The pair of eateries is part of a two-tower complex right at the intersection of Sunset and La Cienega, where a previous hotel operated briefly under a different name before being bought by Barry Sternlicht’s SH Group in May.

Now the whole team has flipped the newly-minted 1 Hotel property once again, and here comes Harriet’s. H.wood is calling the open-air lounge a “return to the refined decadence” of last century, complete with plush striped upholstered lounge chairs, tons of greenery, marble, and sweeping views of the Los Angeles basin. Much like nearby Catch and Eveleigh, there will also be lots of wood and dim lighting to add to the upscale summertime ambiance. John Sofio of Built, Inc. has designed the space.

In terms of food and drink, corporate chef Lord Maynard Llera will be working mellow club fare through to late night bites. Harriet’s will act as the anchor restaurant for the hotel so look for menus that stretch the hours, plus cocktails by bar director Justin Campbell.

Alongside Harriet’s will be Alice Kitchen, a more casual marketplace for quick service items and small bites, open daily from breakfast through dinner. That will open later in the year.

Expect Harriet’s to officially open off Sunset on Wednesday, September 26, keeping hours from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily.

Harriet’s. 8490 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA.
