The Miracle in your House

Amber and I were drowning financially. We were $125,000 in debt when God whispered something radical: “Give your way out.” It seemed impossible. How do you give when you can’t pay your bills? But we started tithing 10 percent, then pushed to giving 50 percent or more. That obedience completely transformed our lives. Today, we help thousands do the same. One of the most powerful biblical stories that shaped our journey is the widow’s oil in 2 Kings. This widow had nothing but a small jar of oil, or so she thought. The prophet asked her, “What do you have in your house?” He told her to collect empty jars. When she poured that single jar, it multiplied until every vessel overflowed. The oil only stopped when she ran out of jars.

Here’s the revelation: the limitation wasn’t God’s supply but her capacity to receive. How many of us play small, collecting just a few jars, when God wants to pour out abundance? The miracle was already in her house. She just needed faith to recognize it and bring it to the marketplace.

The biggest misconception about generosity is that you need abundance before you can be generous. The truth is generosity creates abundance. We gave our way out of debt. That defies conventional wisdom, but it is biblical truth. When you understand that the Kingdom of God is within you, that you are housing heaven’s resources, you realize you are never impoverished. You are only limited by your faith to collect another jar.

If you feel stuck financially, ask yourself: What do you have in your house? A gift, a talent, a skill you’ve minimized? Stop cataloging what you lack. Recognize your “except.” Then take it to the marketplace. Partner with others. God didn’t design us for solo missions.

The miracle is already in your house. It worked for a desperate widow thousands of years ago. It worked for us. It will work for you.
