How Do You See God Moving in America, through what Many are Calling a Revival of Faith - A New Jesus Revolution?
AS CONVERSATIONS ABOUT A RENEWED AWAKENING OF FAITH GROW ACROSS THE NATION, L.A. STYLE MAGAZINE INVITED DISTINGUISHED FAITH LEADERS ON THE PAGES THAT FOLLOW AND THROUGHOUT THIS ISSUE TO SHARE THEIR PERSPECTIVES ON A DEFINING QUESTION:
“How do you see God moving in America through what many are calling a revival of faith - a New Jesus Revolution?”
“There is a revival of faith occurring and, at the same time, an apostasy of faith. Many have departed from faith in the past 25 years in the United States. In fact, from 2000 to 2020, extensive polls show over 33 million Americans left the faith. However, since 2022, many young people are turning to faith, and it is evidenced by retail sales of Bibles, worship music, and discipleship materials trending upward rapidly.”

“It’s like a stretching across the nation, where God is moving from the West Coast to the East Coast to bring revival not just to Washington, D.C. and California, but to America. It is Him stretching across this nation, which was founded on biblical Christian values. I believe we are coming back to that place again.
There has been such a war against our history, trying to erase our Christian foundation as a nation. I believe that is part of this reformation, bringing the truth back so people understand the power of the Bible, the influence of our Christian forefathers, and what our nation was originally built upon, and then walking that out once again.
I believe dry ground is always the perfect place to start a fire. I don’t say that in a derogatory way toward California. There have obviously been natural fires, but I also believe that spiritually the fires that have taken place there are prophetic of the spiritual fires that are about to ignite in California. Sometimes the dryness of a place becomes the perfect ground for God to pour out.
Biblically, every time God poured out His Spirit it was because things had become so difficult that people began crying out to Him again. The money didn’t satisfy anymore. The fame didn’t satisfy anymore. The beautiful houses, the fashion, and all the things that made our flesh feel good for a moment didn’t satisfy the soul. I believe California is coming back to that place where people cry out for truth once again. They are crying out for the one true answer, and that is Jesus Christ. And He will pour out His Spirit to show Himself

“We believe God is igniting a fresh awakening and a deep hunger for Jesus in this generation. There is a rising tide of hunger for Jesus in the world today, especially among the younger generation. Gen Z, in particular, is searching for purpose and meaning, and they’re drawn to an authentic faith that transforms lives. People aren’t interested in shallow answers; they’re longing for the truth that only Jesus can give. We’ve seen this move of God firsthand. God is stirring hearts and drawing the multitudes back to Him. We’ve witnessed it in the mass beach baptisms and in the crowds of people flooding into churches, hungry for more of His presence. We’ve also experienced a powerful unity in the Body of Christ like never before. Being involved in Baptize America has given us a front-row seat to what God is doing as churches come together across denominations to pursue the Great Commission. Watching thousands respond and publicly declare their faith in Jesus Christ has been one of the most incredible testimonies of God’s work in this season. In so many ways, God is awakening His people and ushering in what truly feels like a new Jesus Revolution.”

“When true revival breaks out, no one wants to leave church. Everyone lingers even after service is done. Second, young people begin to invite their friends. Third, supernatural finances begin to flow. People give not because they have to, but because they want to. Those are three markers of revival. I’m starting to notice these things in different places. When we go somewhere and nobody wants to leave, when young people stop scrolling and start listening and begin inviting their friends, something is happening. Once people experience God, they become the greatest promoters of the Kingdom and begin to say, ‘Come see.’ And when people experience the liberty of God’s presence, generosity follows. They give not out of obligation, but because they want to see the move of God continue.”

“I see God moving in America through what many are describing as a renewed awakening of faith. I am encountering a generation that is deeply hungry for truth, authenticity, and a sense of mission. Now more than ever, there is a visible hunger for God—especially among young people who are searching for something real and lasting in the midst of cultural uncertainty. In Hollywood, where influence and visibility are concentrated, that hunger is especially evident. Beneath the surface of image and industry, people are asking honest questions and seeking genuine transformation rather than performance. When faith takes root in places of influence, its impact often reaches far beyond what is immediately seen, shaping culture in quiet but powerful ways.”

“I honestly see it as a genuine hunger for Jesus rising again. In the middle of so much noise and uncertainty, people seem tired of empty answers and are coming back to the simplicity of the Gospel — just loving Jesus, knowing Him, and following Him. It doesn’t feel manufactured. It feels raw. There’s repentance, humility, and a desire for real holiness— not to impress anyone, but because hearts are being stirred. What’s beautiful is seeing young people on fire for God alongside older generations who have walked with Him for years. There’s something pure about that unity. And it’s not just happening inside church walls. It’s showing up in prayer gatherings, in homes, online, in acts of compassion. When Jesus is lifted up, He draws people. We believe we are living in the midst of revival!

“It’s exciting to watch! I see God at work in this generation through a renewed hunger for authenticity, community, and purpose. We are hungry for more. A revolution of God is sweeping through the world. Many people are turning from empty distractions and seeking real encounters with God, not just religion but a real relationship. This ‘new Jesus Revolution’ feels like a movement of hearts being reawakened to grace, hunger, and love – a reminder that God is still at work through us today.”

“The Father promised that He would help turn our ashes into beauty. Isaiah 61 is unfolding in this generation. Many of us who have endured much pain found healing in Jesus. This generation is rising up in the Jesus Style, they are going around doing good, healing those who have been oppressed by the devil.”
“No one has held more outdoor worship gatherings in America than I have over the last six years—which means I’ve seen things most people haven’t. While the news continues to broadcast fear, division, political chaos, and darkness. I have witnessed something entirely different: the great LIGHT of God expanding across our nation. There is a hunger, a passion, and a radical surrender to Jesus that I believe we have not seen in our lifetime—and it is sweeping America. From every single state capitol (which I have personally visited), to blue states, red states, and purple states alike, God is doing something new and fresh in this generation. I am seeing a boldness and courage to live and speak for Jesus—regardless of persecution, isolation, or consequences. This is the mark of revival. I truly believe we are about to witness more souls swept into the Kingdom of God this year than in any year in American history.
“We see God moving in America by awakening people to who they truly are and whose they are. There is a growing hunger for truth, purpose, and authentic faith. What looks like a cultural shift is really a spiritual awakening—people encountering Jesus personally and realizing they were created for more than striving, fear, or division. It truly feels like a remarkable time to be alive! We’ve had the privilege of witnessing lives transformed through salvation, baptisms, and people rediscovering real hope. Revival begins in hearts, and when hearts change, families, businesses, and communities change too.”

“I believe what’s coming is going to be a move of God and a revival not just in America but throughout the world. Through revival, Jesus is preparing His people for His return. I believe we are on the brink of that moment, and God is giving people an opportunity to experience revival before Christ returns.”
Desiree Foreman
“Revival in America will not come through strategy, programs, or human effort—it will come as the fruit of deep repentance. Our nation has become deeply entrenched in sin, and the hardness of our hearts cannot be broken by willpower alone. Scripture teaches that it is the kindness and love of God that leads us to repentance. When we truly encounter His holiness and His mercy, pride falls, hearts soften, and we turn back to Him. True revival begins when we humble ourselves before God, confess our sin, and return to Him with sincere hearts. From that place of repentance, the Spirit of God breathes life again, restoring His people and awakening the nation.”
IN AN EXCLUSIVE PERSONAL CONVERSATION WITH PAULA WHITE-CAIN, IN HER PERSONAL CAPACITY, SHE SHARES:
SENIOR ADVISOR TO THE WHITE HOUSE
“It’s a great question. I see a quiet but unmistakable awakening taking place as people return to Jesus and to Scripture. We are witnessing a soaring number of Bible study gatherings, and there is a genuine hunger emerging. People are returning to prayer and to holiness. They are not just searching the way many were in the 1990s when the question was often, “What would Jesus do?” Today feels different. There is a deeper hunger, and I truly believe God is moving mightily through that hunger.
When you look at the great moves of God throughout history, they are always marked by prayer, fasting, worship, and people seeking His presence. God has always been clear about that path. What we are seeing now is a deep and holy hunger that will not be satisfied by culture, success, or what the world calls success. It cannot be satisfied by the noise that surrounds us. True fulfillment only comes through a genuine encounter with Jesus Christ.
Many people today are weary. Coming through the COVID era, we are seeing troubling statistics, especially among young people. Girls under the age of eighteen, nearly a third report having seriously considered or attempted suicide, and many consistently report feelings of unhappiness and depression. We are also seeing staggering statistics among young men. When we look at this level of pain and emptiness, it reveals a cry from the human heart that says none of these things are satisfying. That cry often becomes the pathway that leads people to the only place where true satisfaction can be found, and that is in Jesus Christ. It is in that hunger that God often does His deepest work.
What we are witnessing is not just a light drizzle. It feels more like the beginning of a fresh outpouring. There is renewed prayer, worship, repentance, and a return to the Word of God. What is remarkable is that this is not confined to the four walls of the church. It is happening in the marketplace, in communities, and in everyday life.
We are even seeing national calls to prayer connected with the upcoming America250 celebration, marking the 250th anniversary of our nation. There has been encouragement for families, churches, synagogues, and people of faith to dedicate one hour each week to prayer. Many are signing up through America250 to participate. On May 17, there are plans to gather on the National Mall, where organizers anticipate more than a million people of faith coming together to pray and rededicate the nation to God.
Having been in ministry for about forty one years, it is remarkable to reflect on moments like this when leaders in positions of national authority call for prayer and spiritual reflection. At times like these, it is not surprising that there is spiritual warfare as well. When people begin turning their hearts back to God, significant things begin to happen.
At the heart of my own ministry has always been soul winning. That has always been my deepest passion. Over the years, millions of people have come to faith through the work of the ministry. Ultimately, the message comes back to the promise found in Scripture: if God’s people humble themselves, turn from their ways, and cry out to Him, He will hear from heaven and heal the land.
What I see today is a genuine movement of repentance, rededication, and hunger for God. People are crying out and returning to Him. It truly feels like an awakening, a revival, and, prayerfully, even the beginning of a reformation.”
REFLECTION FROM LEADER GREG LAURIE,
SENIOR PASTOR, HARVEST CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP
In this LA STYLE Magazine exclusive, Greg Laurie reflects on the question echoed throughout the pages of this special issue: “How do you see God moving in America through what many are calling a revival of faith, a new Jesus Revolution?” His answer below offers insight into his perspective on the faith momentum unfolding across the nation.
Greg Laurie shares, “Are we seeing another spiritual awakening? The last time America saw a great one was during the 1970s Jesus Movement. That’s more than five decades ago, and I had a front row seat to it all, coming to faith myself at that time. I have to say, I haven’t felt this much cultural stirring since then.
The signs are real, and they’re happening especially among young people. Gen Z has been called the ‘hopeless generation.’ They have the highest suicide rate of any generation. They’re drowning in entertainment and starving for real meaning. But here is something really amazing. We are seeing a spiritual hunger and resurgence about Jesus, specifically among Gen Z and Millennials. This is exactly what happened during the Jesus Movement. It was the youth coming to Christ out of desperation.
Since 2019, commitment to Christ among Gen Z men has jumped 15 percentage points. Bible sales are up 22%, with first-time buyers being led by young adults. It’s young people buying the Bible for the first time. Instead of leaving the faith, they’re reaching for Scripture.
The culture is shifting too. For the first time in over a decade, two Christian songs charted simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100. Add to this the fact that Christian filmmaking is gaining momentum, seen through the phenomenal success of shows like The Chosen and House of David. And don’t forget the global impact of Jesus Revolution. I’ve heard many stories of unexpected people that were reached through that film.
During the original Jesus Movement, there were riots, racial tension, and a real fear of nuclear war. It felt like our nation was unraveling before our very eyes. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? But with all the talk of ‘revolution,’ one actually took place. Not a political revolution or a moral revolution. It was what TIME Magazine dubbed a ‘Jesus Revolution.’
When I put all we’re seeing together, I start to see a pattern. I start seeing hopeful signs we’re nearing another Jesus Revolution. Can I say for certain what we’re currently seeing will turn into something larger? Of course not. God only knows. But what I do know is that we can each do our part as His people. We can fan the current spiritual flames by waking up spiritually ourselves.” - Greg & Cathe Laurie
